10/23/04 - A Letter from Timothy's Wife to her Friends and Family

Dear Friends and Family,

I hope this letter finds all of you happy and healthy. I apologize for the letter being impersonal. It is going out to everyone I know.

Some of you will be greatly offended and possibly not want to speak to me after you read this. I am willing to take that chance.

With the election coming up everyone seems to be so concerned about governmental decisions regarding Iraq and the financial state of our country and even which candidate "looks better" as president. How pathetic! It is so sad that the more important issues like human life are left out of all the debates or just casually mentioned. I am talking about the candidates' stand on abortion.

A flyer came in the mail a couple weeks ago. It absolutely sickened me. I am including a copy for you. (Please do a internet search for descriptions and pictures of abortion procedures - Here is just one site http://www.imagesofabortion.com/exposed/pages/start/home.aspx if you have the stomach.)

Sometimes I think people who are pro-choice are just ignorant about what really happens to a baby when it is aborted. Other people close their eyes and ears so they don't have to know, and others just don't care and that is horrifying. Most of you have children. We have all seen ultrasound pictures of our babies. Even a baby at three months looks like a baby. At four months, usually the sex of the child is visible. Yet, abortion is still legal up until the end of the first trimester.

Why was everyone so upset when 9-11 happened and everyone is so incensed about the loss of troops in Iraq? Some 5,000 (approximate) people died during 9-11 and to date about 1,200 (approximate) troops have died in Iraq. Please don't misunderstand me - I am not belittling the life of anybody. The loss of lives in any situation is tragic. Regarding the loss of troops, they chose to fight for our country knowing full well that they may someday be at war and someday may lose their life. A child who is aborted NEVER has the chance to make that decision or any other decision because their life was snuffed out before it had a chance to begin.

Do you know how many people our country has lost since Roe vs. Wade in 1973? Over 43,000,000! Of course they weren't real people. They aren't real people until they can eat with a fork, spell their name or drive a car. Over 43,000,000 babies in the U.S. alone. Over 46,000,000 babies were aborted in the world last year alone! Doesn't this strike you as wrong, if not pure evil?! I know some of you are just as heartbroken as I am.

All of us have an obligation to protect the innocent. Anyone, who has anything to do with an abortion, is guilty of the abortion:

From the woman who has the abortion... her spouse who agrees to it... her doctor who performs it... the nurses who help the doctor perform the abortion... the abortion clinic owner... the landlord who rents to the abortion clinic owner... the lawmakers who support abortion and finally the voters who put those lawmakers into office.

Those of you who vote for pro-choice lawmakers will be just as guilty as the one having the abortion. Why? Because you did not do anything to try and stop it.

This letter is not about the election - what you might be thinking. It is about opening everyone's eyes and hearts. What has happened to everyone? There seems to be no regard for human life!

The Bible is very clear on the issue of human life and abortion. The following are just some of the verses you will find in the Bible.

God has made children innocent and blameless, a gift from Him (our Creator) to us. They are held in high regard by both God and Jesus.

Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. - Psalm 127:3-5

Then the little children were brought to Jesus for Him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked those who brought them. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." When He had placed His hands on them, He went on from there. - Matthew 19:13-15

People were bringing little children to Jesus to have Him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, He was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." And He took the children in His arms, put His hands on them and blessed them. - Mark 10:13-16

In the Bible, God is very specific about a baby in the mother's womb. He knew us before we were born. He created us.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in that secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. - Psalm 139:13-16

Yet you brought me out of the womb. You made me trust in you even at my mother's breast. - Psalm 22:9

As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother's womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things. - Ecclesiastes 11:5

And now the Lord says - He who formed me in the womb to be His servant to bring Jacob back to Him and gather Israel to Himself, for I am honored in the eyes of the Lord and my God has been my strength. - Isaiah 49:5

The Word of the Lord came to me, saying, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." - Jeremiah 1:4-5

God tells us that we are to protect the poor and helpless. Wouldn't you consider an unborn child helpless? It is known everywhere throughout the world to protect the oppressed, the weak, etc. Why, then, do we not view a little child in the womb as helpless, someone in need of protection?

Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. - Psalm 82:3-4

Everyone is familiar with the ten commandments. What about the one that says "THOU SHALT NOT KILL." The argument always is, "When does human life really begin?" You don't really know so why do you guess? Wouldn't you rather err on the cautious side? (God says that life begins before conception. He also says that the day is coming for all, whether they believe or not, to sit in judgment of their deeds.)

You shall not commit murder. - Deuteronomy 5:17

God gives a great number of warnings to those who hurt His "little ones".

If men who are fighting hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman's husband demands and the court allows. But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise. - Exodus 21:22-25 (They are referring to serious injury or death to the unborn child.)

He called a little child and had him stand among them. And He said, "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes Me. But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea." - Matthew 18:2-6, Mark 9:42

Now that you know the truth about abortion, it is up to you to decide where your heart truly lies.
